Youth Councillor Joshua Chandulal-Mackay

As a Youth Councillor, I stand for assuring the youth of Wanganui that they can feel both comfortable and proud of their own identity, in a safe and pleasant environment. As a fourth term Youth Councillor I think that it is now becoming more important then ever to learn and build up knowledge and confidence when dealing with issues concerning the welfare of our community. This, I believe, is one of the fundamental parts of being involved in the Wanganui Youth Committee.

I feel that confidence and communication are some of the things that have really grown in me in the four years that I have spent as a Wanganui Youth Councillor, and I think that it is now becoming all the more important that these skills are put to use in a way that will benefit the wider Wanganui community.
