How much are the impounding fees?

Poundage fees (per animal)

Pigs and goats
First impoundment: $1.00 per day
Second & subsequent impoundment: $2.00 per day

Horses, cattle beasts, deer, asses and mules
First impoundment: $5.00 per day
Second & subsequent impoundment: $10.00 per day

Sheep
First impoundment: $0.50 per day
Second & subsequent impoundment: $1.00 per day

In addition, the following costs may apply:
After hours call out fee: $50.00 one off
Transport cost: Actual cost
Transport cost: Mileage charged at 70 cents per kilometre
Animal Control Officer rate: $75.00 plus GST per hour per Animal Control Officer

Sustenance charges (per animal)
Goat: $1.00 per day*
Cattle beast: $4.00 per day*
Sheep: $1.00 per day*
Horse, deer, ass, mule: $10.00 per day*
Dog: $5.00 per day*

* additional costs may also be charged if they are actual and reasonable

Actual and reasonable costs incurred will be charged for animals not named above.
