Wanganui District Plan
Summary of submissions available and call for further submissions to Plan Change 18 – Vehicle Crossings Public notice is hereby given in accordance with clause 7 of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991 (The Act) that the Wanganui District Council has prepared a summary of submissions made to: Proposed Plan Change 18: Vehicle Crossings Proposed Plan Change 18 seeks to remove the existing vehicle crossing rules that solely relate to traffic safety, and to address the visual amenity effects on streetscapes that are caused by multiple vehicle crossings to access sites. By creating a maximum number of crossings per site, the plan intends to allow access to sites while providing a safe and attractive environment for pedestrians, motorists and owners and occupiers of sites adjoining the road reserve. Copies of all the submissions received and a summary of the decisions requested by submitters to the proposed Plan Change are available for public inspection Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm, at the Customer Service Desk, Wanganui District Council, 101 Guyton Street, and at the District Library, Queens Park, Wanganui. Wanganui District Council now invites further written submissions in support of, or in opposition to, those submissions already made. The following persons may make a further submission, in the prescribed form: (a) any person representing a relevant aspect of the public interest; and Further submissions may only be in support of, or in opposition to, submissions already made to proposed Plan Change 18. Further submissions must be in writing, and be in the prescribed form, which is available from the Wanganui District Council, and addressed to: Wanganui District Council Or faxed to (06) 349 0523 Further submissions in support of, or opposition to, those submissions already made close at 4.00pm on Friday, 9 July 2010. Please note: Following the close of further submissions, if required, the Wanganui District Council will then hold a Hearing of the submissions. All persons who make a submission or further submission and who requested to be heard will be advised of the date, time and place of the Hearing. The Council will then make decisions on the submissions and further submissions. Any submitter or further submitter may refer the decision on their submission to the Environment Court. Request for Proposals Keeping Wanganui Moving Forward Professional services consultants are invited to submit proposals for this study and strategic plan commission that asks the question – What will a Wanganui urban transport system, which is integrated, well connected, sustainable and multi-modal, look like 30 years from now? Proponents will be required to assess and identify well balanced solutions, including physical infrastructure and policy interventions, while understanding the needs/behaviours of the users. Enquiries should be directed to: Contract 1454 – Kowhai Park maintenance Tenders are invited from suitably qualified contractors for the grounds maintenance for Kowhai Park. The work involves turf mowing and maintenance, planting and garden bed maintenance, and general grounds maintenance to a high standard, fitting the status of Kowhai Park as one of Wanganui's premier parks and playgrounds. Notification of intention to grant ground lease & licence
Pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Reserves Act 1977 notice is hereby given of an intention to issue a ground lease and licence for the term of 9 years over 1377 square metres of land more or less, contained in Certificate of Title Volume 16D Folio 1044 described as Section 349 Right Bank Wanganui River and Certificate of Title Volume 16D Folio 1045 described as Section 348 Right Bank Wanganui River, on Somme Parade. This is for the purposes of the Wanganui Rowing Association Inc rowing shed, finish line structure and associated activities. Written submissions, stating the grounds for objection to the issue of the lease and licence, should be sent to Kathryn Yorke, Property Officer, Wanganui District Council, 101 Guyton Street, Wanganui.
