Neighbourhood survey

Wicksteed St/London St/Somme Pde/Dublin St areas

A community survey in the area near Laird Park this month will ask residents lots of questions, including how their area can be improved.

The survey, which will be conducted from October 8-13, involves a number of Wanganui organisations. They are Wanganui District Council, Police, Police Volunteers, Fire Service, Ministry of Education, Polytechnic, Whanganui District Health Board, Safer Community Council, Civil Defence, Truancy Service and Wanganui Chronicle.

It will include questions relating to these agencies and is similar to successful surveys in Castlecliff and College Estate.

The area being surveyed is bounded by London Street (from Wicksteed Street to Kaikokopu Road), Kaikokopu Road (London Street to Somme Parade), Somme Parade (Kaikokopu Road to Dublin Street), Dublin Street (Somme Parade to Wicksteed Street), Wicksteed Street (Dublin Street to London Street) and including both sides of the boundary streets.

Surveyors, who will wear identifiable name tags, will call on lots of homes and will approach residents directly. Residents' help with answering the survey would be much appreciated. It takes about 20 minutes.

The Police Bus will be in the area during the survey period. Please call in and have chat.

Your assistance will help us and in turn help your community.
