Building Safety Week
16-22 June 2008 Putting a friendly face to the Building Official New Zealand is one of 28 countries taking part in Building Safety Week, highlighting the importance of - Safety where you live, work and play When you enter a house or building, you're probably not thinking about whether it is properly constructed and safe. Fortunately your local Building Official, like those employed by the Council, thinks about building safety every day.
It's about protecting lives and property. Building safety addresses all aspects of construction, such as structural soundness of buildings, plumbing and mechanical systems. Public safety is the number one concern. During Building Safety Week and throughout the year, New Zealand Building Officials help to protect you and your community. There will be a draw of all recipients of a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC) issued by the Wanganui District Council in June. One lucky person will receive BOB, the building officials' bear. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
