Applications invited for Impact Fund grants - 31/10/2007Applicants have until November 9 to make their case for grants from the Wanganui Incorporated Impact Fund.
Grants will be allocated to projects, events and initiatives that deliver significant economic benefits to Wanganui city and region, Wanganui District Council Economic Development Manager John Quigley said.
Applications are now being accepted for activities occurring between July 2007 and June 2008. This is the second funding round for the $200,000 Impact Fund.
The Wanganui Motorcycle Club was one of the recipients in the first funding round. The grant was to enable the club to establish an event management plan, safety and operation plan and database of all groups and individuals connected with the Cemetery Circuit event.
"We're moving into an era where high standards for this kind of event are expected," event manager Lloyd McKenzie said.
"Essentially, the funding has enabled us to create a blueprint for the event so that anyone in the future can come in and pick up the reins without too much trouble. The funding has enabled us to create this living document which will give us the resources to start on time and run a smooth and safe meeting. There will be ongoing benefits from this for many years to come."
Information about the fund is available from Wanganui Inc, phone 349 0380, and application forms are available online from Wanganui Inc's website.
Applications close at 5.00pm on Friday, November 9. |
