Trains crossing over Heads Road - 29/04/2011Councillor Ray Stevens asked for the travelling public who use the section of Heads Road where there are railing crossings, to take extra care with trains now operating on the Castlecliff branch line.
“This particular part of Heads Road is dangerous at the best of times. Cars and trucks tend to travel fast along this section and adding train crossings will cause more distractions for drivers.”
Council will install temporary traffic management signs to help the public reduce speed and become aware of the trains.
Councillor Ray looks forward to the additional economic growth the rail opening will bring to Wanganui.
