Splash Centre issues - 15/11/2011Wanganui District Council has achieved settlement through mediation following issues at the Splash Centre swimming complex.
The issues at the Splash Centre resulted in the Council having to close various pools on occasions (due to the temperatures of the pools not being maintained), undertake a short-term fix to remedy the problems, and carry out a long-term solution to ensure the Splash Centre operates as intended. This resulted in the Council incurring costs.
Infrastructure and Property Committee Chair Cr Ray Stevens said mediation took place on 11 October 2011 between the Council and other relevant parties who were involved with the design and construction of the Splash Centre. Full and final settlement was reached between the parties. The terms of the settlement are to remain confidential between the parties. |
