Judicial review papers to be filed - 20/08/2012

Wanganui District Council’s Chief Executive, Kevin Ross, confirmed the Council will be filing papers in the Wellington Court for a judicial review into the decision to release Mr Wilson into the Wanganui district.

“Papers relating to a judicial review will be filed by the end of tomorrow and we expect the hearing to take place sometime within the next week,” says Mr Ross.

Hayden Wilson of Kensington Swan is acting for the Council in relation to the judicial review.

The resource and building consents for the Corrections Department application to site a dwelling on Whanganui Prison (Kaitoke) grounds at Pauri Road, are still being processed.
