Anzac Parade footpath investigations under way - 21/06/2006Investigations into the repairs of the slumping walkway on Anzac Parade, between Portal and Purua streets, have begun.
Council infrastructure manager Julian Reweti says over the next two days a basic area survey will be carried out, which will include river depth measurements and soil samples.
Mr Reweti says the survey will help in finding out the extent of the problem so council can then work on the costs involved in repairing the footpath.
The shellrock footpath is currently closed to pedestrians but Mr Reweti says talks are under way with Transit NZ to investigate an alternative pedestrian access. |
