How much does a LIM cost?
Residential and rural - $140 (GST incl)
Commercial - actual cost plus GST. A deposit of $150 is required.
Urgent LIM - additional $140 (GST incl)
Optional site inspection

- Commercial/Rural - actual cost plus GST. $65 deposit required
Fees must be paid at the time the application is made. Note: Fees can be subject to change.
How long does it take?
By law, the LIM must be completed within 10 working days.
We offer an "urgent" LIM service (completed in 75 hours i.e. 3 working days plus 3 hours), but you must contact the LIM administrator before lodging the application to check that the shortened timeframe can be met. An additional fee is charged for an urgent LIM. |

Site inspection
A site inspection does not form part of the legal requirement of a LIM. However, Wanganui District Council does offer a site inspection in conjunction with a LIM application. The site inspection is of the exterior only to check Council's building records against the site. A site inspection will pick up if any external building work has been done without the required consent/permit.
An additional inspection fee of $120 (GST incl) is charged for residential site inspections.
Commercial and rural site inspections are charged at cost, plus GST, and $50 deposit is required.
