Handspan
Wanganui Culture of Peace Sculpture Queens Park, Wanganui
A year ago Handspan was dedicated by Her Excellency the Governor-General,
the Honourable Dame Silvia Cartwright, to 'a culture of peace and non-violence
for the children of the world'.
There are many hand casts covering the walls of the sculpture and these
came from people of all ages, mostly from Wanganui.
On Sunday 21 September 2003 it will be one year since the dedication
of Handspan. Also, that day is the International Day of Peace.
To celebrate both events everyone is invited to participate in a picnic
in Queens Park, at noon. The Community Choir will entertain and there
will be hot drinks and some food provided.
Please come along and join in this celebration.
