Clean Up NZ Week
15-21 September 2003

One Hour for our River
Sunday, 21 September 2003

This year the Clean Up NZ Week coincides with the International Year of Freshwater.

Members from the Whanganui River Clubs, with support from the River City FM and the Wanganui District Council, are giving an hour this Sunday to clean up the Whanganui River from Aramoho to Castlecliff. The aim of Sunday's effort is clear litter from the river within the urban area. Whanganui River Clubs will use boats to clean the river while the community is being asked to collect litter from the riverbanks.

To register contact River City FM (06) 345 8564 or the Wanganui District Council (06) 349 0001. You can register during Clean Up NZ Week or register with a team leader on the day. When you register you will go into the draw to win spot prizes that will be given away at the free BBQ after the clean up.
