Artrageous Wanganui UCOL students are celebrating their achievements with a week of festivities showcasing their work. Artrageous features graduation exhibitions in fine arts, glass and computer graphic design and a spectacular graduation fashion show. There are also exhibitions by students working their way toward graduation, including art and design, print and glass, painting, photography and fashion courses. Wanganui A&P Super Summer Show
The Wanganui A&P Super Summer Show kicked off with some great entertainment on November 12 and continues throughout the weekend with something for everyone. Head along to the Wanganui Racecourse in Purnell Street on Saturday or Sunday to check out what's happening. The activities include horse events, trade exhibitions, dog trial demonstrations, home industry competitions, school expo and kindergartens tent, food court, displays and of course the side shows. There are also various special events happening over the weekend. For car buffs, 36 of the latest model cars will be on display, including the New Zealand launch of the SsangYong car. Entertainment includes the Ronald McDonald Show, Price is Write quiz show, Mary Loo the Singing Cow, Canary Idol competition, needle in a hay stack, Axemania (battle of the blade), Bobcat Gravel Battle at midday on Sunday and so much more. Gambling in Wanganui - Have Your Say A Social and Economic Impact Study of Gambling in Wanganui Do you find gambling fun? These are some of the questions that we would like you
to comment on. Why do we want to know? The Council is seeking community participation in undertaking a Social and Economic Impact Study of Gambling in Wanganui. The findings from this study will be used in the review in 2005. The Council is keen to hear from those interested in contributing to the gambling study. If you wish to hold a community forum, please contact us. On the other hand you may wish to submit your written comments.
