Venue: Lake Wiritoa.

March 16: Wanganui Kennel Society & Toy Dog Club & Gundog Society Championship Shows
Venue: Wembley Park Soccer Grounds. Free entrance. From 8.30am.

March 18 & 20: Harakeke Weaving Demonstrations
Venue: Whanganui Regional Museum. 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Lake Wiritoa Closure

Lake Wiritoa will be closed to the public on Saturday, 16 March 2002, and Sunday, 17 March 2002, to allow the Wanganui Water Ski Club to host the WCNITWSA Regional Tournament and the third round Regional Interclub Slalom.

The beach area of the lake will remain open for passive recreation.

The Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause the public.

Temporary Road Closure:
Somme Parade - Delhi Avenue to Madras Street.
Wanganui Wastewater Scheme: Separation Upper Aramoho

Wanganui District Council wishes to advise that Somme Parade, between Delhi Avenue and Madras Street, will be closed from 8.00am on Monday, 18 March 2002, until 5.00pm on Thursday, 28 March 2002, for the purpose of constructing sewer and stormwater pipelines across Somme Parade at Delhi Avenue.

A signposted detour route will be available via Delhi Avenue, Bombay Street and Madras Street.

Residents in the closed section will have vehicular access to their properties available at all times. Pedestrians and cyclists are also requested to detour via the alternative route.

The Council regrets any inconvenience caused.
