Lake Wiritoa closures for the 2009/10 season
During the 2009/10 season, the ski lane area at Lake Wiritoa will be closed at the following times for the Wanganui Water Ski Club (from Saturday, 31 October 2009, through to Sunday, 25 April 2010):
The ski lane area will also be closed every Wednesday night from dusk to dawn for jet skiers. Lake Wiritoa will not be closed over the Christmas period December 25 to January 4. The passive area will be open to the public throughout the season. The lake will also be closed on the following dates from dawn to dusk.

Registrations of Interest
Contract No. 1438 – Wanganui Airport Wastewater Separation We are inviting registrations of interest for the design, installation and five years of maintenance of a low pressure wastewater disposal system at Wanganui Airport, to be operational by Thursday, 29 April 2010.
Experience and proven track record in the installation of similar systems is essential. Registrations of Interest should show company experience. Tender
Contract 1437: Pavement Construction - Phase 2 Suitably qualified contractors are invited to tender for pavement widening and extending the seal the Whanganui River Road and Raetihi – Pipiriki Road. The work is in both the Wanganui and Ruapehu Districts, and involves approximately 20km of minor earthworks, pavement construction and first coat chip sealing. This will complete the seal extension project. Contract documents are available from the Customer Services Counter at Wanganui District Council, 101 Guyton Street, Wanganui. Temporary road closure

Vehicle access to residential properties on the closed section will be available at all times unless advised by the contractor. A signposted detour will not be provided.

Possum poison (cholecalciferol gel bait) stations
Possum poison will be laid in bait stations at Victoria Park cricket ground and Kowhai Park arboretum from Friday, 14 August 2009, to Monday, 30 November 2009. Bait stations will be well above the reach of small children and dogs. When in these areas, please keep dogs under control at all times or muzzled. Should they consume any carcasses or parts, please seek veterinary advice. Rates rebates
1 July 2009 – 30 June 2010 The income threshold for rates rebate is $21,910 and the maximum allowable rebate is $550. However, if your income exceeds $21,910 you could still be entitled to a rebate depending on the total cost of your rates and the number of dependents. Ratepayers need to apply to the Wanganui District Council for a rates rebate. Those who are eligible will then either have their rates reduced by the amount of the rebate, or receive a refund if the rates have been paid in full for the year. Dog Registration Fees 2009/10
The Wanganui District Council gives notice, as required by the Dog Control Act 1996, Section 37(b), of the Dog Registration Fees set by resolution of Council on 8 June 2009. The Dog Registration Fees are for 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010.
