Wanganui to feature on TVNZ on Christmas Day - 13/11/2008Wanganui will be provided with great nationwide TV exposure on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
A production crew was in the Wanganui region today filming segments for a TV One production entitled 'Nine Lessons and Carols'. The production features hymns and lessons filmed in various parts of the Wellington Diocese which is celebrating its 150th anniversary.
Former TV personality and cooking host, Fr Des Britten, will be fronting the show.
The production features the Anglican church at Marton, Wanganui Collegiate and the Council Chambers. It is understood the show will be telecast on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The head boy and girl of Collegiate will read one of the televised lessons, as will the Wanganui Mayor Michael Laws.
"This will be great exposure for Wanganui and serve as a positive counterpoint to the current Jhia Te Tua trial. I'm delighted Wanganui will be cast in such a benign light with such an uplifting message." |
