Additional bail condition for 86 Ikitara Road rogue developer - 6/09/2010Mayor Michael Laws today confirmed that the developer at the centre of a number of charges relating to earthworks at 86 Ikitara Road has had an additional condition added to his bail.
Adrian Page is currently on bail pending a “not guilty” hearing relating to a number of charges at the property, including diverting stormwater on to his neighbour’s property.
“On Thursday, August 26, Mr Page went on to the council road reserve, at the start of the drive at 86 Ikitara Road and removed all of the asphalt from the road reserve with a digger. This caused significant damage and impacted on his neighbour’s access to their own property,” says Mayor Laws.
“A condition of his bail was that Mr Page was not to enter the property at 86 Ikitara Road, unless accompanied by an engineer. The purpose of this was to comply with the requirements of an enforcement order, issued by the Environment Court.
“On Sunday, September 5, Mr Page went on to the property at Ikitara Road and undertook work with a shovel. The police were called and he was arrested for breaching his bail conditions and causing damage to the council road reserve.
“Mr Page was bailed today and had been given an additional bail condition that he not enter Ikitara Road.
“The conditions of his bail have always been to protect his neighbours from the poorly designed earthworks that he undertook in late 2008/2009.
“Council will not stand by and allow Mr Page to continue with his irresponsible and dangerous actions.”
Mr Page’s trial is due to commence in mid-2011. |
