Infrastructure Manager appointed - 25/07/2012

Wanganui District Council Chief Executive Kevin Ross today said Mark Hughes has been appointed as the Council’s new Infrastructure Manager.

“Mark began work with us this week and we’re delighted to have him on board,” Mr Ross said.

“He brings a wealth of experience in project management and will be an asset to our organisation.”

Mr Hughes has run his own consulting firm since 2005, a role that has seen him manage projects such as:

  • The Willis Central Project (new Telecom Head Office) – Willis Central is the largest new commercial property to be developed in Wellington in the last 20 years.
  • Mid City Plaza Redevelopment (Conservation House) – New Zealand’s first 5 star equivalent “green” office building.
  • Plus other major Wellington upgrades and refurbishments.

Before going into consultancy, Mr Hughes worked for Capital and Coast District Health Board, initially as the Chief Business Analyst and then as Chief Operations Officer.

Mr Hughes is a keen trout fisherman and avid car enthusiast (both classic and contemporary).
